Bremweg runs between Avenue Brassine near Notre Dame de la Justice and Verdunningsdreef but I’m not sure that it deserves its name. There is no Broom along it.

There are areas along the path where trees have been removed and Small Balsam has wasted no time in colonising the disturbed ground. Although it is tempting to think that its genus, 𝐼𝑚𝑝𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑒𝑛𝑠, describes this behaviour, it is actually the seed pods which cannot wait, exploding at the merest touch in late summer.
Although not native it isn’t really a nuisance. As soon as the birch and beech rise above it, the light it craves will go and the balsam with it.
If only its Himalayan cousin could likewise be so easily suppressed.
