It’s been a few days, the day job has been hectic, stressful and tiring. Today, however, was mine to do as I pleased. Which, of course, took me on a quest. For the next few posts I shall tell you about what I encountered and reveal the location…
The first to catch my eye was this Yellow Stagshorn, 𝐶𝑎𝑙𝑜𝑐𝑒𝑟𝑎 𝑣𝑖𝑠𝑐𝑜𝑠𝑎. Often associated with decaying conifers, this was no exception. At this point along the path were Larch, some tall, reaching upwards, others dead, decaying.

It’s a jelly fungus of striking form and colour, almost coral-like, flames of orange seeming to lick the surface of the stump, reaching for the attendant moss.
