Here we have the Linden with its little cluster of nutlets dangling beneath a long, pale bract. When they fall, the bract catches the air and carries them away from the parent tree.

And here is the Maple. It has paired samaras, the helicopters of our childhood, which spin as they fall, allowing the wind to carry them further afield. It is thought to be good luck to catch them in mid-air.
