      Also to be found od disturbed ground is Birdโ€™s-foot trefoil, ๐ฟ๐‘œ๐‘ก๐‘ข๐‘  ๐‘๐‘œ๐‘Ÿ๐‘›๐‘–๐‘๐‘ข๐‘™๐‘Ž๐‘ก๐‘ข๐‘ . Tre = three, and you can see the three-lobed leaves clearly. You can also make out the immature seed pods, said to resemble the shape of a, well, birdโ€™s foot. A self-explanatory name.

      The cheerful yellow flowers supply nectar to bees, butterflies and other pollinators so keep an eye out for the Small Blue (self-explanatory) and Dingy Skipper butterflies which are particularly attracted to the flower. โ€˜Dingyโ€™ means dull, drab and dirty-looking, a handsome beast to be sure.
