Itโs not just the songs, it is often the books too.
Iโve recently acquired a 1920 edition of ๐ฟ๐ ๐น๐๐๐ฬ๐ก ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ . Stevens and Louis Van der Swaelmen of La Ligue des Amis de la Forรชt de Soignes.

A few Sundays ago I wrote about a most striking beetle I encountered in the Forest. Here is the original text from that work, written by M. A. Lameere, then Professeur de zoologie ร lโUniversitรฉ libre de Bruxelles. A translation into English follows.
โThe Forรชt de Soignes nevertheless possesses an animal found nowhere else. It is a beetle, the Putzeysi variety of ๐ถ๐๐๐๐๐ข๐ ๐๐ข๐๐๐๐๐ก๐๐๐ , which bears the name of the distinguished Brussels entomologist Jules Putzeys, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Justice.
I shall refrain from describing this insect, for to do so would draw too much attention to it from the uninitiated and risk bringing about its destruction. Those who are interested should go and see it in the Museum of Natural History. May such a visit inspire in them a taste for entomology!
I will merely add that the forests of north-western France each contain a similar, though not identical, variety of this same ๐ถ๐๐๐๐๐ข๐ ๐๐ข๐๐๐๐๐ก๐๐๐ , which is widespread throughout a large part of Europe.
As the dominant tree of the Forรชt de Soignes is the beech, one naturally finds here the insects that live upon that tree, though by no means all of themโฆโ
Out of respect for M. Lameere's wishes, I will not repost the photograph from earlier.
