      There are other, younger ones in the immediate area. I suspect the Copper Beech to the left, a deliberate planting, is the ancestral tree. Fully 160 years old and dating to the burgeoning tourism due in part to the railway reaching Groenendaal, its planting coincided with the Boon family buying the former religious house to provide โ€˜restaurationโ€™ or catering for the well-heeled.
