Ok, that’s just my made up name for what I found yesterday, whilst looking at something else. It really was well camouflaged amongst last autumn’s leaf litter.

It’s been so dry of late that I really wasn’t expecting any fungal encounters, but there it was, about 10 cm across and lately a slug’s dinner. I think it is actually a Summer Bolete, 𝐵𝑜𝑙𝑒𝑡𝑢𝑠 𝑟𝑒𝑡𝑖𝑐𝑢𝑙𝑎𝑡𝑢𝑠.
